You should be using a fully synthetic oil that is specifically designed for both turbos and for diesels. The most commonly available is Castrol Magnetec but there are others from the major oil companies. Mobil 1 seems to be very popular in the States. All are over £20 a gallon and you should be changing the oil at about 3000 miles depending on driving conditions. More expensive to service than your average petrol engine eh?

A minimum spec. would be 10-30 according to the owners manual, there is also a sticker on the side of the centre console with recommendations.
I'm using a semi-synth mixed fleet oil from Comma. Best to buy oil in bulk from the motor factors- £8 per gallon, £ for a 25l drum...
