(Home) Cool box

Just bought a Townace 1994 2.0DT but doesn't have a cooler box. However I can purchase one for a few quid but need to know how to wire it in.
Aslo has anyone got any Grey set lever knobs going spare I have a few missing from mine and just have bare metal levers. - (#151) Russ, 19 May 01

Unfortunately the hot/cold box is linked to the aircon, and even if you could get all the pipes etc, it would still be a big job to fit. How about an ordinary electric coolbox- try Halfords (or Tescos had a batch recently £29.95)

On a richter scale of importance i guess this rates 1!
The cooler box in my Royal Lounge doesn't appear to get very[at all] cool. Any suggestions out there about what might be wrong and how it works - is it electrical, linked to the AC or what?
Cheers

It's linked to the a/c. get your gas checked... - (#672) David Miller, 27 Jul 01

just had aircon system regassed, works well, but cooler box will not get cold. traced pipes back and found feed pipe is not getting cold from intersection with main pipework( as if there is a blockage in pipe),does anybody know if there is a solenoid valve in the rear of the box itself. only valve i can find at the momement is under the side panel but this appears to be clicking. any help would be appreciated

Did cool box work before system was regassed?
Has the air con guy put the correct weight of gas for the triple system you have?
The gas will take the easiest route around the system, so you could have a blockage, possibly caused by a faulty control valve, or even worse you could have the dessicant from the receiver dryer broken up & now contaminating the system, did he replace the receiver dryer? if not, why not? it should be replaced every 2 years, or if a 'retro fit' conversion was done. I suggest you call him back in & get him to sort the problem. If you look back at the 'aor conditioning' thread from a few days ago, alot of info that will help you was put forward there. Regards Rob.

Hmm, if the system is full of gas, the valve clicks when you turn it on, then I'd guess a blocked expansion valve...(possibly some debris disturbed through the regas, or wrong oil added?)
