Derby appears to be the capital of the north for Townies. There must be nearly half a dozen garages importing them in the area. I've heard bad things said about a couple of them in terms of after sales, so be careful. However, Bullivants at Chaddesden (?) on 01332 671000 are very au fait with these vehicles and I have used them myself and recommended them to many other visitors to this site. They also carry a few spares for these so turnaround in service is often quicker.

Jim's advice is good though. Cheaper and more satisfying to diy.

I am thinking of buying a 1997 imported Townace. It comes with all the 'bells & whistles' and I am therefore a little worried about servicing and parts. Is this a problem? I live in the Hampshire area

less of a problem these days as they are more common now. Some dealers still have an aversion to working on imports but you are much better off finding a good independant garage that you can trust. After being stung a couple of times for garage bills you might want to consider getting your hands dirty and trying it yourself. There's an abundance of informmation and help to be had on this site and AceAnswers. You never know, you may just enjoy yourself!
