Only a thought, but considering what an effort it is to replace the air con belt, ( removing seat, floor etc ) Has anyone considered fitting one of those emergency belts, the ones you can split, then reconnect. I've seen them at the trade warehouse and just wondered... It wouldn't matter too much if it wasn't a permanent fixture, I wouldn't be using the air conditioning 52 weeks a year anyway !

Might work, kevin, but air con compressors can absorb up to 10hp, alternators only 1-2hp. So it moght not be able to handle it. - (#245) david miller, 31 May 01
