We bought our auto 2.0td townace 93 model quite cheap because it needed a driveshaft bearing and rear brakes. On the test drive it made some clonking while accelerating from standstill, which I thought was due to the bearing, Ive done the bearing but still clonks, It feels like a worn axle bush or something but on inspection these look fine. Has the driveshaft joint been greased? Check also for play at the flange where the driveshaft mounts to the diff. The large nut that holds the flange on can loosen.
