(Home) Curtains

my lite ace i recently bought has no curtains ,so does anyone know where i can get some, complete with hooks etc.also my log book says its a town ace but i have a lite ace badge on the back and on the steering wheel.i checked the serial numbers on the plate by the drivers seat ,they match up with the log book,it has field tourer writen along the side,is there any difference between a townie and a lite ace which might mean i have to change the log book or what ever to be on the safe side.have you heard of a field tourer before,i have not seen one around - (#311) dave, 17 Jun 01

AFAIK, all post-93 townies are badged as Lite-ace. Field Tourer is the trim level, the new Noah comes in this trim also.
Curtains might be difficult... - (#313) David Miller, 18 Jun 01

Kevin Savage suggested a good alternative to factory-fitted curtains in a previous post on 16/5.

Barry

It's a tall order to remove the curtains what with all the clips and hooks but I will measure them up for you once I get my Townie back. It's in the garage having an upper wishbone replaced ATM.

barry, do you have all the rails and clips? i've tried to get a few missing ones with no luck (more luck getting hens teeth mate was one reply). if you do, you are more than welcome to come and look at mine if you are up bristol way.

Barry

Side curtains (4 off) 21" H x 4' W
Rear curtains (2 off) 24.5"H x 3'W

Studs hold them to the van and small bits of velcro and straps act as ties. If making your own you might want to make them longer so that they bag rather than just meet (ask your missis, it's a woman thing). Your main problem is going to be the sliding rollers and hooks that fit in the top and bottom rails. Might take some innovative workaround.

Hi, just bought a Townie and the missus wants curtains in the back, we notice there is a runner underneath the windows and can feel some small indentations above the windows. Is this anything to do with curtains. I so, where can I get some from and whats the easiest way to fit them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers Paul

A set of good condition curtains are going to be as scarce as hen's teeth. Suggest you make your own. Your missis any good with a sewing machine? I believe I posted the measurements some time ago so they should be on AceAnswers.

A lot has been written and requested about the curtains in these vehicles and I too am having to adopt and find alternative for hooks.

I did come across this web site for kit set curtains if anyone is interested.

I have not used them myself so cannot give any recommendation
