(Home) Workshop manual

Where can I obtain this russian workshop manual that this site keep talking about and I mean russian not the translated version. I don't speak russian which may seem stupid but then again I don't have to as I can request the help of the wife to translate it for me (native eastern european).
Seems selfish I know but Toyota dealers won't give out the information and Haynes, Chilton and all the other workshop manual publishers seem to have overlooked our models and to keep having to pay for someone to look at something trivial is a bit pointless. - (#676) Russ, 27 Jul 01

Short answer is you can't. Speak directly to Mark, though- your wife might be a cheaper translator than the present one... - (#682) David Miller, 28 Jul 01

Cheers.
Now how do I get in contact with Mark.
PS
Thanks for the info on the Cooler Box. Gonna get one and stick it in the boot. Would of been handy to have in the front but knowing my luck would get pulled over for eating or drinking whilst driving.:) - (#683) Russ, 28 Jul 01

Ahh, he runs this site... - (#689) David Miller, 29 Jul 01

Here is the link. If you find a safe way to transfer money to Russia, let me know. I would like to order one myself. I wouldn't try credit cards, though. - (#696) Holger Laux, 30 Jul 01

Hi
Someone mentions in the archive that you can get a Taraga manual from an Australian web site 'Pitstop' and that they were awaiting delivery of theirs. (Simon?) Did it turn up and is it any good?
Thanks, and Happy New Year to all. - (#1877) Maria, 15 Jan 02

Yep, Manual turned up, took about a week from Australia and worked out at about £19. Seems comparable with a Haynes manual and appears to cover most aspects of Petrol Model F. It does include some extra sections to cover the broader range that was exported to Australia such as reticulated ball steering, fuel injection, various emmission control systems, 2.2 litre (4Y) engine.
For DIY maintenance it appears to be all there; specifications, torque wrench settings, trouble shooting etc.
I have only had to use it "in anger" twice so far. Front lower ball joint replacement and fan belt idler pulley replacement, nothing too major.
Cheers

thanks
btw.. very usefull site this! thanks to whoever put it together! - (#1882) eddie arrowsmith, 15 Jan 02

The person you are after will be me and you can contact me at the e-mail address shown at the bottom of most of these pages or, I think, by clicking on my name above.
I am Mark and I put this site together for owners to share their experiences and problems due to a lack of information available on these vehicles. It is a group site, although I run it, that relies on valuable contributions from as many owners as possible. - (#1889) Mark, 16 Jan 02

Could I ask anyone who wants to see the workshop manul translated and published, to contact Mark ? If the number of owners, who will commit themselves to supporting this project, increases, then the costs per head will be much lower. I can only imagine the amount of work which has already gone into this project and it would be a pity if this splendid project did not get the support it deserves. To the owner/mechanic, the manual would be a godsend and,on any resale of the vehicle, it would represent a great added benefit to potential buyers - (#1933) John Davis, 21 Jan 02

I totally agree John , and the window of oppurtunity will not be open forever. How about a visable means of seing the manual progress on the BIG PAGE like a 'Blue Peter' appeal indicator (you can tell what time I get home) so the rest are encouraged.
