(Home) Suspension height (front)

Following the excellent responses to my earlier query about my Masterace front suspension, and David Miller kindly providing the "ride height" dimensions, I completed the job with new shock absorbers (TEMS type) which are available from a Toyota dealer, and with a careful adjustment of the torsion bar anchorages, the ride is transformed. Some adjustment of the headlight beam is required, after this excercise but, with a small "made up" tool, and some release oil sprayed onto the adjusting screws, this was quite straightforward. - (#749) John Davis, 5 Aug 01

I just adjusted the front suspension on my Townace to the reccomended figure , its made a big difference to the ride and handling too. Mine was a massive 40 mm too low !
For large adjustents (such as mine was) always adjust the 22 mm nuts a little each side as they effect each other . In other words if you adjust one side all the way you will find once you adjust the other side the first side is out , also they need a run to settle then recheck the measurements . - (#754) J Adgo, 5 Aug 01
