(Home) Which tyres

My Liteace (H-Reg) originally came with Goodyear all weather tyres (185 70R13). They were all quite worn, so I went to "Just Tyres" and had new ones fitted
Continental Contact at the rear (for better grip in mud) and Avon Enviro at the front (for better water dispersal in the rain).
What I am slightly worried about
The original tyres were 4-plies and the new ones are as well. The tyre service said this was OK, but some years ago, I had exactly the opposite advice for my old Commer camper van ("Oh my god! This is dangerous, you need at least 6-plies!"). granted, the Commer was a bit heavier, but I now looked a bit closer at other cars in the street and found that even minivans like the Ford Courier run on 6-plies.
What is your experience/advice?

Anything with a load index of 90 or above. Best to go for reinforced car tyres rather than Van tyres. Just check that the maximum inflation pressure on the sidewall is higher than 38psi...

Mine say 86T after the size figures. Is this the load index?

I got a quote of 100 pounds a piece for reinforced. That's a bit steep. Van tyres are (supposedly) not available at all in this size. There are a couple of Liteace vans around here. I'll have to sneak up and check what they are running.
At least the maximum inflation pressure is 44.
Well, now I have these tyres and unless I can complain to the tyre service that they should have known better, I'll have to use them until the next lot is due. I don't want to spend the money again now.

86T is the index, yes. If you're safe to 44psi, you're OK.
