It's time for one of Johns topical tips. If you have changed the cam belt, or had it changed for you, hang on to the old belt. It has a number of uses, especially as an oil filter removing tool, ie, wrapped around the filter, tooth side inwards, clamped together with a Mole wrench or similar, even the tightest filter will come away, especially if you make up a small "rocking clamp" and handle (simple to make)and cut a short section off the belt, (long enough to go round the biggest filter) which progressively tightens to get a good grip. - (#828) John Davis, 18 Aug 01
