I've been trying to get hold of air,oil,fuel filters for my 1995 Townace 2.2 diesel 3C-T engine.
The currently fitted (very dirty) air filter has this toyota part number
17801 64080. I spotted on this knowledge board that the number for the filter is 17801 54050 - but when I looked at that at the local Toyota garage, it wasn't as tall and was a bit wider than the one I have currently fitted. So ... I was wondering which model I should be using for a 3C-T engine. Also I was wanting to check that the oil filter (PH5124) and fuel filter (P4922) was the same for 3C-T if anyone knows.
The toyota garage initially couldn't find my filter number on their computer, but then dialled up toyota hq and found it - it said the UK was due to get deliveries of it today, but they said that could mean several weeks.
Interestingly, I went to the local motor factors shop, and although they had grey import catalogs, they only had Townaces down as 2.0L, not 2.2 like my one. They phoned ADL (some parts manufacturer?) and they only had 2.0L too. They said 2.2L townaces were US spec models. Doesn't seem quite right though as mine was imported direct from Japan. I also did a search on the web for Toyota Townace air filters, and came up with this URL

It appears to be saying that 17801-54050 is for 2C (2000cc) engines and 17801-64080 is for 3C (2200cc) engines.
But I couldn't find any official Toyota page that said what air filter to use. - (#853) Jim Snowden, 21 Aug 01
I got in touch with BBC Spares who do townace bits and the chap there said there is a slightly different air filter for the 2.2 Diesels (3C-T?) - the Fram number is CA5273. I bought one and it is the same shape/size as the one currently in my townace (toyota part 17801-64080). But the oil and fuel filters seem to be the same.
