(Home) Fan, clean

While reading a website on Hillman Imps ( famed for cooling problems ) I read that cleaning the fan blades makes a considerable differance to the ammount of air moved . Anyone with marginal cooling might bear this in mind .That said it wont be a cure for more serious problems but it cant do any harm . regards Jim - (#1060) J Adgo, 11 Sep 01

I agree and I am old enough to remember the similar cooling problems of the Hillman Imp. It won't make that much difference but, with the highly sensitive nature of the Townace cooling system, every little helps. I washed the blades of the fan before replacing also, I paid particular attention to replacing and sealing the open areas around the radiator with new sorbo foam so that all of the air which gets to the radiator area is pulled through it and not allowed to escape round it. - (#1065) John Davis, 12 Sep 01
