(Home) Pulling left, ride height, suspension grease points

Hi - after searching around since buying my MasterAce Surf 4WD in Feb I have found this excellent resource. My problem is that my townie is pulling fairly heavily to the left. I have reset the tracking to neutral(my dad is a mechanic and I used to be) based on numbers for a Lite Ace 4WD van but im not convinced this is right. The outside edges of the tyres are also wearing down rapidly. When the weight shifts (such as when pulling up a kerb) there is a loud creaking from the front offside suspension. Is there anything particular to the townie I should look out for?
P.S I get 30 MPG regularly from my townie with a roof rack and roof box........ - (#1119) John Tuck, 22 Sep 01

John , id check the ride height , most Ace's ride height decreases with age and it gives all sorts or probs from worn tyres ( alters camber) to bottoming ,to a horrible groaning noise . It should be 252mm from the deck to the middle of the pivot bolt on the lower wishbone and track control arm joining point , adjustment is by two large locknuts on the long torsion rods which run under the floor (which will probably need some oil on the threads and the crescent shaped load normalisers .. also take it for a ride and let it settle and then recheck .. reagrds Jim - (#1120) J Adgo, 22 Sep 01

Ditto all that, but try also lubricating the various bushes around the front end- the upper balljoint, and the support bush for the upper arm/ torsion bar both have grease points- remove the M6 bolt plug, and install a grease nipple.... - (#1122) David Miller, 23 Sep 01
