(Home) Auto. Creeping

I just had my Liteace in for service and MOT. When I got it back, this is what the mechanic told me
He had to adjust something to reduce the emissions, but he took care not to touch the settings I so painfully worked out myself (i.e. length of thottle cable, pre-turbo allen screw and kickdown cable). He would also be ale to change something in order to improve the effect of the idle-up switch but he better not because then the car would start creeping.
I was not quite sure what he meant by "creeping" until I was back on the road with my vehicle
If you put the autobox into drive and release the brake pedal, the car should start to move forward. Now it does much less so than it did before. This does not only effect the handling from standstill, the car is also slowing down much quicker when you just want to let it roll.
Of course, I could go back and tell him to change the setting he mentioned, but perhaps I can do this myself? Two questions
Is this creeping an intended or just a side-effect of the autobox, i.e. does more creeping any harm? If not, how can I increase it? - (#1259) Holger Laux, 18 Oct 01

creeping is natural, and can be increased by increasing the idle speed slightly(screw and locknut sort of under the boost compensator, behind the kickdown cable) . There is also a screw and locknut to set the idle up speed- it's the small vacuum actuator at the side of the pump.
Don't adjust either of these unless the engine is hot, or the therno actuator will confuse you!!
