(Home) Tracking and ride height, CR30

Has anybody got the details for the Tracking of a 88/9 4x4 Townace, as mine has tyre wear on only one side, & I want to sort it out before getting some new tyres ??
Thanks.. Paul - (#1733) Paul, 29 Dec 01

Paul, These figures have been given previously and you will find them on the splendidly archived Ace Answers list, via the above link - (#1735) John Davis, 30 Dec 01

But accept that tyre pressures and the type of driving you do will affect the wear pattern also. - (#1736) david miller, 30 Dec 01

Could someone kindly advise re the tracking figures which are posted on the Ace Answers site. For the CR30 4WD, do I read the posting correctly and should the correct adjustment be neutral, ie, with no toe in or toe out, with 1 mm maximum tolerance ? - (#2606) John Davis, 31 Mar 02

Yes, john, that's the figures that Toyota GB aquired for me. - (#2610) david miller, 31 Mar 02

Does anybody out there know the settings for the tracking and maybe the camber angles.Nobody around here seems to know these settings , not even Toyota so i`m stuck and my tyres have rounded edges . I need to replace the fronts but i`m worried that these will end up being in the same condition .

Thanks very much.

geoff before you go any further check the ride hieght is correct as this alters the camber ..the torsion bars all go weak and it sits low at the front (look familiar?).. measure from the floor to the lower wishbone bolt middle 262mm is correct
the tracking is the same as a spacecruiser so is the camber - i set my tracking dead parralell and put 2 or 3 psi more in the tyres - check the upper and lower balljoints in the wishbones for wear too

Geoff,
This information will be found in Ace answers, under "Tracking", from which, I took this extract.

"Settings for CR30
KPI 12 deg 25min
camber 10 min+- 45
toe 0+- 12 min =+- 1mm
caster 2deg 50 min +- 45
Also used tyre pressures of 33psi all round.
