TRANSMISSION. 4WD. 4 WHEEL JOY

You really think so? I find travelling on untreated roads here in Derbyshire can be a nightmare, the backend wags around like the dog's tail as soon as you get any speed up. The 4WD is the get out of jail card but having to get in and out to lock the wheels is a real pain. I dread to think how those with 2WD Townies cope in bad weather.

Ian,
I live in Derbyshire (as near as damn!) and I've found no problems, so long as you are in no rush, and if I can get around Matlock then it must be ok! - (#1751) Eagleneil, 31 Dec 01

Patience was never a strong point of mine. Mind you I wouldn't fancy tackling that big hill that runs by the Council Offices, even with 4WD. It's a hell of a climb even in summer!

As a 2WD liteace owner I can appreciate how much better it has been for you 4WD Townies. I was reduced to reversing up the hill outside my house. ---- Converts my rear wheel drive to a front wheel drive ! A tip for other 2WD's. - (#1817) stephen judge, 4 Jan 02
