(Home) Parking

Sorry if this sounds thick, but I was wondering if any of you park in multi storeys?
In the year I've had my townace, I've got away with it. I've been told our vehicle is the same height as a land rover, but I've never spotted one of them in a multi storey either!
regards,

Barry,
Follow that Discovery, the high roof Townies are approx the same hight as a Land Rover Discovery, around 6' 6", I have never had a problem with any car park that shows a 6' 6" hight limit, so just avoid anywhere with a lower limit. HTH. Regards Rob. - (#2117) Rob Drinkwater, 5 Feb 02

I never ever use the multi-park parks...My Townie already has a lot of mark in the paint work , so I keep out....

Personally I try and avoid multi-storeys no matter what the car. I think they are a magnet for scrapes, thefts etc. The wife uses them though. She throws it round the bends and ramps, only been with her once and cringed as we flew under the concrete overheads. Either she's mad or I'm a wimp!

Caution definitely needed in carparks. I know of one incident (not mine). Had to deflate the tyres to get it out and wait months for the insurers to do several £1000s of repairs to skylites etc.
I park in my garage under a normal canopy up-and-over door so I have studied the height issue. I have to ensure the door is fully up and the antenna pulled low then I have well over 20mm of clearance if the fuel tank's full.
2.1m is the metric guide figure but you can't believe the signs. I know places where I can drive under barriers labelled 1.8m. Presumably there are others labelled 2.4m which will catch you out.
Take care. Watching the tip of the antenna through the driver's skylite (if you have one) is very handy. - (#2142) Dave Mason, 7 Feb 02

Just for info - I've measured my liteace at 1.98 metres - for the purpose of ensuring it will meet the height requirements on a ferry. - (#2166) stephen Judge, 8 Feb 02
