(Home) Turbo oil feed pipe

I have just took my Townace 2lt td auto in local nationwide garage for a radiator leak. They have got the go-ahead under the 3 months warranty by saying its split or broke. They also found a leaking oil feed to turbo unit pipe. The fitter tells me he is having a hard job to disconnect it to get it replaced. He also said he cannot say how much he has to move to get to the joins. As the insurance will not cover this i could end up with a big bill.
Anyone know what pipe he is talking about and is it a major job. The pipe can be seen underneath next to the oil filter. Any advice please Phil Cook - (#2168) Phil Cook, 8 Feb 02

Forgot to mention the rear shock absorber bottom rubber bushes are badly worn. Can they be replaced in two halves on each side or are they built into shocks. Phil Cook - (#2169) Phil Cook, 8 Feb 02

The supply hose connects to a hard pipe in the vicinity of the alternator, it attaches to the base of the turbo, above the oil filter via a flange. The return pipe to the sump also goes onto the same flange. If the top connection is tight, the alternator might have to come out, the turbo too, if really bad...
Shocks have bonded bushes AFAIK - (#2170) david miller, 9 Feb 02

I changed my rear shocks rubber bushes last year with ease. I think I paid about £1-2 each and they do come as a whole unit. People had said that fitting is easier if you split it down the middle but I had no problems with fitting. A good tip is plenty of washing up liquid or liquid soap. - (#2171) Mark, 9 Feb 02

Thank you Mark and David.
The good news is the garage have had the radiator recored £196 + vat.
They tell me that the oil feed/return pipe to turbo they are worried about taking of as something might break and they will have to dismantle a lot to replace. They do not know if its the rubber pipe or the metal flange/pipe.
I found new parts from toyota agent Weston Super Mere rubber £5.90 + vat metal £64 + vat. Approx 2 days to get either.
Thanks again. Phil - (#2183) Phil Cook, 9 Feb 02

Sorry for not getting back earlier been away on hol.
I have had the townace in the garage for almost 5 weeks trying to sort this pipe.
They keep telling me its hard to do and that it took 2 weeks to get the complete pipe.
Also they have recored my rear rad.
They have paid over the odds through partco. £196.
Thank you both for your help.
