Help !!!
Our Toyota Liteace is in the garage, it looks like centuries before they can get a new alternator. We think we could get the alternator re-conditioned or rewound for cheaper and quicker than the Toyota garage can. We live in Scarborough, can anyone recommend anything or anyone who will do a decent , reliable job
Thanks - (#2375) Jason, 1 Mar 02

Jason, if you can get the alternator back, take it to a local factor, they may be able to find some numbers on it to cross reference it & supply an exchange unit. Alternatively take it to a good auto electrical place or a LUCAS dealer and they should be able to recondition it for you. HTH. Regards Rob. - (#2380) Rob Drinkwater, 1 Mar 02

Jason,If you get stuck for a recondition or a replacement unit let me know.
My brother is in the motor trade ( I don't mind advertising my Liteace is a damaged repairable )and has told me of an insurance recovery agent, he knows well! who has a 94 Liteace that he ( the agent ) is waiting on the insurance company agreeing for him to break. ( well hit N/S sliding door ) It is expected to clear within the next two weeks. Contact me if you need to, I'll see what I can do. - (#2382) stephen judge, 1 Mar 02

Thanks Rob
Phoned Lucas, they'll be able to look at it on Monday and hopefully get it back the same day - GREAT

If you don't get any luck rewinding it, let me know the part no on yours - I've got a surplus one in good nick since we put a new engine in our Townie which needed all different ancillaries. - (#2394) SteveFE, 4 Mar 02
