You can buy kits from Pacet and Kenlowe. Try www.deemon-tweeks.co.uk
You need about a 12" fan IIRC. - (#2392) david miller, 4 Mar 02

Hi Paul,
I recently installed an electric fan in my Lite Ace, I used a fan from a mid size Rover. The fan housing was fitted quite easily; I removed the cowling (no longer needed) and placed the fan against the radiator. There are three protruding places to fix the fan in place on the cowling/housing of the fan, two I placed at the bottom of the radiator and the third was a larger extension from the fan housing which then pointed upward. On the bottom I sat a piece of “L” profile galvanized metal just longer than the two bolts protruding at the bottom of the radiator (around 16")where the discarded cowling used to fit sticking out of the radiator. Drilled two holes in the metal matching those bolts, this would hold the “L” profile galvanized metal to the radiator and in that after lining up the fan I drilled two holes and fixed the fan on the “L” profile galvanized metal, first bolting the fan on the bracket with the bolt head against the radiator. For this two coach bolts 8 or 10mm would be good with the round head against the radiator, preferable in the metal part of the radiator at the bottom so as not to damage the fins.
At the top I secured the fan in place by using the bolt in the middle which holds the radiator in place. I had an “L” shape bracket about 2” wide and 2” on each side, flattened it and bent the metal into a “U” shape. Drilled a 10mm hole in one side for the radiator bolt to fit threw and a similar hole on the other side. With a long bolt and washers this connected to the fan housing on the long protruding plastic cowling of the fan housing. Trimmed of the excess plastic and made sure the metal bracket at the top did not touch the engine cover.
At the scrap yard there are many fans with this kind of appearance, I did not like the look of fans from smaller cars. I saw also a fan from a BMW which would have worked well.
For the rover fan I paid 10 pounds.
Also I made sure at the bottom bracket no sharp edges would chiaf the hoses.
I have not wired it up yet, David Miller suggested Demon Tweeks for a sensor but I could never get threw to there site. David also suggested a fiat temp sensor to fit into the blanks near the water filler on the driver’s side. My one has them sticking in the air so this may not connect to the water so well and I would have to rely on the temp of the metal, which could be ok. I also noticed in the Toyota manual a relay used for an electric fan, I am thinking the relay may not be needed and a direct hook up to a hot wire with an in line fuse should suffice.
Incidentally I have been running with no fan now for awhile, it does not bother the heat of the engine, it stays below the center on the temp gauge all the time. I do plan to finish the fan before the weather heats up having just recored the radiator makes a world of difference.
Hope this helps, I have pictures if you want I can send them direct. Putting them on the site I have not figured out yet.
