My C reg Space Cruiser has failed the MOT because the brake pedal drifts down under pressure. My mechanic friend has changed the master cylinder (after checking brakes and draining etc) to no avail, so then tried a s/hand brake servo. Still no improvement. Bypassing the servo the brakes are 100% (but too abrupt to be acceptable). Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look next? Thanks. - (#2471) dave K, 9 Mar 02

Sorry to report that there is still no improvement with the soft brake pedal. There appears to be no external vacuum valve (from manifold).Presume it is built into servo.Unless the 'new' servo is faulty too we are out of things to replace. With servo disconnected or engine off the brakes are fine (have driven ok as test).Does anyone have a diagram of braking system they could email or post? - (#2569) Dave K, 27 Mar 02
