Can anyone please help in sourcing a non-toyota track rod end for a townace (2.0 turbodiesel, 2WD, royal lounge 1991). My local dealer has quoted me £75 for the part, which I think is extortionate(the last one I bought was under a tenner). ADL blueprint don't do one specifically for the townie but they do for the hi-ace, is it the same?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry Leigh, different part number for the Hiace. Toyota part number is 45046-29195 and is same for Townace and Liteace. Decent motor factors may carry it for the Liteace van and/or may be able to translate the number into a non OEM for you.

Following up on your part number for the Toanace & Liteace, I have had a look at the ADL CD, the Townace has now listing (as Leigh said) but the Liteace is listed as ADT38715, for both L+R, the Toyota number you give as 45046-29195 does not go across to the ADT number, so now I'm confused, ADL do however show the ADT38715 as fitting the 85-90 Spacecruisers, so would this follow it is the same, if so then we would have a source of supply from ADL, this being the case, I'll get DAve to add it to the list in Ace Answers & Mark to add it on the main site. Dunno. The Toyota parts CD shows that number for both Liteace and Townace but nothing about SpaceCruiser

The (handed) track rod ends are 45046-29185/ 195, and that number applies to townie 2x4 and 4x4, spacecruiser (88-90) and UK spec liteace 92-95

Interesting that you say they are handed, the ADL disc shows them as the same each side, ie not left/right handed threads, and different for liteace to spacecruiser, in fact the one for spacey is shown as the same as a Datsun tre, so now I'm really confused. - (#2602) Rob Drinkwater, 31 Mar 02

Right, have looked further into the ADL disc now, the listings are as follows, shown for both Spacecruiser & liteace van, UK spec I hasten to add:-
83-84 ADD68701 Male threaded TRE
84-85 ADT38714 Long drag link, female thread with locking clamp
85- ADT38715 Female threaded TRE
