(Home) Acceleration poor (petrol)

Judging by most of the messages and advice posted on this board I'd guess many of you are mechanics. I however am not, and yet I'd be more than willing to try and sort out a few of my Townies problems if I knew where to look in the engine! Have you any idea how hard it is to find a garage that knows how to fix a Townace? Is there anyone willing to give me some ideas/instructions? My main problem at present is lack of power - I too have just had a new head gasket, plus the head had to be welded. - (#2683) Louise Groves, 8 Apr 02

Louise, how do you ascertain this lack of power? They're no ball of fire at the best of times...
Check/ replace all filters
Check boost pressure
Check injection timing
Have injectors cleaned/ tested
In that order. probably the best plan of attack

Yes Louise, I have heard from others how difficult it is to get anyone to look at a Town/Masterace, let alone find someone who knows anything about them. However, this forum is your best friend for those elusive and difficult jobs and there is much help available. The Townace is, really, an enthusiasts vehicle so do come back to this band of enthusiasts if you want some answers as, I am sure, there will be lots of people willing to help.
