I have purchased a Super Touring Masterace surf TD.
My situation is that the turbo light on the dashboard never lights up, I suppose the led may have packed up but I consider this unlikely. Can anyone advise if there is anyway that I can test if the turbo is actually working, or does it just work all the time? - (#2701) Paul Hanson, 9 Apr 02
Both green and orange turbo lights should come on when the key is turned to IGN then go out when the engine is fired. The green light should come on when the turbo is activated usually between 1400 - 2000 rpm. You should also hear a distinctive whistle when it kicks in and when hammering the engine.
If you have an operational turbo but no green light, check the wiring to the light and the pressure hose are intact.

let's begin from check of the indicator турбо, on the entered engine we shall disconnect a vacuum pipe from a al-pipe of an inlet collector, we shall wipe her(it) and we shall create pressure by a mouth, the indicator should be lit, - all is very simple, other end трубки goes to gauges of pressure - " a working mode of the turbine (green) " и " an overload (orange) ", and as to the proof-reader on pressurization of the fuel pump of high pressure. if at creation of pressure of indication is not present - the vacuum gauge (them there 2 (on different pressure of operation)) is faulty.
if all is normal, where that is outflow in a highway from the turbine to an inlet collector. thus the strong singing should be audible at reset of gas
