how do i get the distributor out of my spacecruiser

1984 2y 1812cc engine.

clamp bolt is removed and outer body is loose from its

seat but shaft is solid.I've tried levering but stuck solid.

is there anything else that holds it in,or is there

specific position the engine timing has to be in to allow removal...please help

When replacing you need to be at TDC on cylinder 1 and drive rotor @ 30 degrees west (between 1 and 2 o clock) but removal should be straightforward. Once you've removed the clamping bolt there's only an O ring on the shaft. Try pouring a bit of oil down the shaft then after 10 mins try again with brute force.
