Hi I have just bought a new liteace in bristol, its a 2y engine. In Australia i have owned 2 of these and have been very happy. this one however is very uneconomical, i am wondering if it is restricted in some way, or not tuned correctly or maybe i'm just used to cheaper petrol and kms not miles to compare to.
what mpg can i expect and who / how do i get it checked no one has heard of a 2y motor here.
By the way in Oz a 2y is 1800cc but my reg document says 2000cc.

There are different specs for the Oz and European engine ancilliaries including the 2Y. There's also a 2Y-C. Best indication for average mpg is from other contributors to this site with similar vehicle but they maybe pretty thin on the ground. At a guess it should be comparable to the Spacecruiser which should put it in the 17-25mpg bracket.

Only other thing to do is check the tuning - timing, plugs, mixture etc.

ive got 2.0ltr spacecruiser with 2y engine and it drinks petrol like its going out of fashion.....these are thirsty beasts..but like u say you where used to cheaper petrol...
