(Home) Cylinder head, parts suppliers, breakers

I need a replacement cylinder head for 2C-T as my one has a crack between the valves on No.3 cylinder and leaks like a sieve.

I was told there is a three month waiting list, so I'm now looking for a second hand unit, no visible cracks or preasure tested.

Lynn, I am not conversant with your vehicle but, via this note, could anyone advise/confirm if there are any other Toyota vehicles which use the same engine/head ? This might be your best bet regarding a s/h head. The Townace/Mastereace diesel 2C-T engine was, I believe, fitted to various other vehicles including the Camry. It is likely that your engine went into various models. Can anyone advise this young lady ?

Yes John but I can't take all the credit for this. David is of the opinion that they may have been used in the old Crown, Cressida and HiLux. The engine manual covers all the Y series engines and whenever a topic is covered eg. carbs, fuel injection. The 4Y is always covered by a seperate section. Lynn if you get a 4Y head from another vehicle you will need to be very careful about connections to ancilliaries. If you decide to replace with say a 3Y full engine you will also have to consider engine mounts, gear box housing etc. Not going to be straightforward, advice from Toyota wouldn't go amiss.

Nice one Lynn. Hope you get a few miles on the clock before you have to spend any more money on it. I think you're due for a bit of good luck!

HI can anyone tell me what engine is in my cruiser,on the rocker cover its got 3y, on the head its got 4y, im having overheating prob and dont know which gasket set to buy

Do you know the history of your SpaceCruiser? UK market cruisers have either a 2Y (1800cc) or 3Y (2000cc) engine. If you really do have a 3Y rocker cover on a 4Y head then I think you either have a strangely put together import or a remarkable piece of engineering. I'd go for 3Y.
