In the drivers side wheel arch of my townace Masterace surf. Is a very rusty pipe, it appears to be thick steel but looks to be rusted through to me. I'm not getting any warnings etc. What is this pipe for?

i guess its a water pipe m8.....these pipes came with a coating on them to stop them from rusting up..over the years and a lot of road salt the top protective coating came off leaving the pipe to corrode......the pipes are prity thick but my warning is to keep an eye on it because if it does go 2 things could happen trikle out water or burst out....not a very good idea if your top speed on motorway.

Had the same on my cruiser, but on the near side. This was a heater pipe that went through to the (siezed) hot/cold control underneath, just back from the front bumper. I changed it by hack sawing out the offending rusty bits and replacing with rubber piping and Jubilee clips. Worked a treat. Think twice though. I was amazed how much metal actually still existed under the surface..
