hi all... what a great site for info on these fun vehicles,many thanks to all those responsible for this excellent site - we were fortunate enough to find it before we purchased our townie and so was able to pick a good un.(we hope!)
we purchased our 1990 2.0td auto 4x4 townie from a garage nr reading about 9 months ago and so far have no regrets..we are also the proud owners of one completely nutty springer spaniel and an even more soppy irish wolfhound and as wolfhounds tend to be a bit on the large size this was the only vehicle that fitted our requirements

I always unscrew the radio aerial and the tailgate mirror before using a car wash, and then enjoy paying the same price as, say, a Nissan Micra owner for getting all that bodywork cleaned.
