I am now the very proud owner of a D reg 2.0L petrol masterace surf grand saloon efi 4wd, for the last 4 weeks i have been surfing the net to try and get some info about my masterace, but all i can find is info about diesels.If anyone out there can tell me about the petrol engine what i have to look out for ect, I would be very greatful

What type engine? If it's 3Y I know a fair bit.
Firstly it's a Toyota, will last for many 1000's of miles if looked after. Best advice is to get it tuned, Change oil often, my old Spacecruiser is still sailing at 240,000 all original engine, 1 new clutch and rebuilt gearbox. I had a carb so don't know about efi.
I have the Toyota manual for 2/3/4Y engine carb/efi and manual gearbox - email me direct if you would like to make me an offer for it.

You're absolutely right, there is less covered on this site & others about the Petrol engine, this is because there are many more of the 2.0 & a few 2.2 Turbo Diesels (2CT & 3CT) engined models then the 3Y Petrol engine, same as most are Automatic transmission, with only a few manual examples, there do seem to be about equal amounts of 4wd & 2WD however. The transmission and 4WD are basically the same as the Diesel models, the same basic 3Y engine is also used in UK spec Space Cruiser, Hi Lux models, so manuals for these would cover most aspects of engine.
