i am now the very proud owner of a D reg 20L masterace surf grand saloon 4wd efi petrol ,over the last few weeks i have been trying to find out about the petrol engine but all i can find out is about diesel's can anyone tell me if there are any problems to watch out for thanks

You're absolutely right, there is less covered on this site & others about the Petrol engine, this is because there are many more of the 2.0 & a few 2.2 Turbo Diesels (2CT & 3CT) engined models then the 3Y Petrol engine, same as most are Automatic transmission, with only a few manual examples, there do seem to be about equal amounts of 4wd & 2WD however. The transmission and 4WD are basically the same as the Diesel models, the same basic 3Y engine is also used in UK spec Space Cruiser, Hi Lux models, so manuals for these would cover most aspects of engine.
