My name is John Miller

I have had a toyota Town Ace for 4 years now and it has served me well
it has always had an overheat problem and I have always taken plenty of water for it on long journies. I would advise always to have any overheat problems sorted but always to carry a few liters of water spare on any trip,
The over heat problem has lots of sugestions from motor machanics who have not dealt with the Townace before most of these are sound ideas but the main problems seem to be -:

1 Reduced air flow through RAD- Usualy speeds in exess of 80 Kmh
caused by bad Fan fluid coupeling and no forced air.
Usually curable by having a fixed fan or removing it and fitting
an electric fan

2 Poor coolant flow usually silted up by rust when NO anti-corosion
inhibiter is used mainly because Anti Freez is a rare thing to be
used in Japan.

3 Head gasket problems shown by steemy Emissions, presurised cooling
system with Rad cap off lots of fine bubbles or "phut phut phut" noise
with filler cap off, refusing to start first time (water in cylinder head)

Note:- if your having to replace a head gasket get a Head SET not just the
gasket but all the other bits u need,
Most might also need the head bolts as well.. For an extra £20.00 it's probable worth it
