(Home) Former owner

Well hate to admit this but after 3 years of happy motoring Ive finally let my townie go. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks to all the contributors to this site who, without knowing it, have made my life a whole lot easier. I will miss her, whatever anyone else says about townies they have got bags and bags of character. Ive bought an estima a lovely car but somehow hasnt got the same personality as the townie!!! Shows I must like the import route though!! Anyway thanks again, I`ll probs still look on this site as I believe that the engines are essentially the same so there will still be tips to be picked up. Thanks again everyone :0(

Phil

Thanks for the kind words. Sorry to see you go but maybe there's something you could still do for us. After you have had your new bus for a while, how about writing a short article comparing the Estima with the Townace? Possibly to include
advantages/disadvantages of both, likes/dislikes where one scores over the other and things you miss, things you don't miss with the Townie?

Happy motoring
regards
Ian

I think thats a good idea Ian, I`ll take notes over the next few weeks and put a post on the site, meantime if anyone wants to know anything please do feel free to email me, mind you old habits die hard so no doubt I`ll still be having the odd glance on this site. - (#3607) phil elliott, 2 Jul 02

Dear all Townies,

I feel that it is right to inform you all that I have gone over to the other side!!!!!
I have recently sold my Masterace and now have a Lucida X grade 2.2 4wd.

I would like to say that I am going to miss a good bunch of people who have an interest in their vehicles and are keen to past on information to others.
The Lucida website works in a similar way to the Ace, but doesn’t seem to gel as much as here.-However things move on.

A big many thanks to David Miller Steve EF, Mark Charles , David Humphrey Ian Dunse and any others that Have made owning a Townace one of the best vehicles around.
And all those brave lads who supported the Ace Jam back in May-it was the FIRST-We were there!!!
Try to keep it going?
My old Masterace is still going strong (in fact I still see it from time to time and still look at other Townaces- At a car boot sale last Sunday in Cheddar-Somerset I counted 5 Townaces there.) was anyone of you there?

Feel free at anytime to email or Telephone (01237 424814)drop in for a chat if in North Devon on holiday
I will from time to time visit the website-just to see what are current subjects.
Once again a big thanks to all
KEEP ON TOWNING
Regards
Barry Thorogood
PS I have my old Townace Tow Bar is anyone interested in it please telephone

It's not like you've gone and bought a Galaxy though is it? I think you're still onside.

Thanks again for actually organising the Jam; I enjoyed it, my kids still talk in reverent tones about your caravan (no I'm never ever going to get one!) and I'll certainly look in if I'm down your way.

I did intend to arrange another AceJam this year but looks like next year now. When I do you will be invited. Near Blackpool or perhaps if the person who posted from Snowdonia adventure center can contact me who knows...
I think SteveFE got it right when he calls you an all round good egg, wonder how that translates into Russian. Cheers Clive

Thank you, you gugs for your thoughts.
Steve I have now a new(secondhand) caravan a little bit bigger 16' 4 berth and new awning. Goes well with the Lucida.
Please let me know if another Ace Jam takes place!
Thank you once again
