Hi

My 1983 SpaceCruiser packed in on the A3 last week, overheating at the slightest provocation. The roadside assistance people, noting the engine was still overheating after 2 hours of being off, said it's probably the head gasket. I have no idea whether this is the case - anyone got any suggestions?

I've just been quoted £1100 for the fix of this problem from a Toyota dealer. That's three times what I paid for the SpaceCruiser. Need help.

Someone else has quoted me £300-£400. Still as much as I paid for the damn thing. Any advance?

If that's £3-400 for parts and labour I think it's a reasonable deal providing they will check the head is true.
