(Home) Auto box oil change

I wonder if someone could advise please ?
I propose to change the autobox oil on my Masterace 2C-T and see that a previous enquirer was advised that the oil strainer could be cleaned instead of replacing. Is the oil strainer a cylindrical, wire mesh type and mounted externally, ie, screwed into the autobox, possibly on the pumped line to the cooler and accessible from the outside or, is it a mesh "sheet" type filter, contained within the oil "pan", on the base of the box, which would have to be removed for access ?
Also, does anyone know if there is a magnetic "chip" catcher fitted anywhere in these boxes ?
Any comment/advice much appreciated.
Thanks.

Strainer is a flat item accessible after removal of the pan. Two magnets are fitted in the pan.
Worth doing if you've never done it before, but once every few years is probably OK thereafter...
The little pipes pull out if you need better access to the strainer. Strainer gas a gasket, BTW
