(Home) Clunk when cornering in Townie

Has anybody had this problem? When I am cornering I get a loud clunk from under my Townie. Looked underneath but cant find anything loose or worn. Any ideas as to what it could be.

front or rear, braking or not? Full lock or slight?

Bill, If on full lock may be the plastic domed nut type stop thing on the knuckle, that contacts the lower wishbone, worn through. Slap some grease on it, or replace with Toyota p/no 45619-14020 (I think check it).

Clunk is on slight cornering usually to the right and it sounds like it is from the O/S rear. I get it more if the Townie is cornering fast and usualy when accelerating out of the bend. A friend who also ownes a Townie thought it could be suspension link bushes. Could it be suspension bushes and if yes which bushes?

Yes, any of them, the only way to find out is to look and test with a big prybar.

This probably isn't your problem, but I had a clunk when cornering which turned out to be a can of coke rolling from side to side in the coolbox doh! simple fix is to put more cans in :-)
