Still looking at Town Aces to replace my tired Space Cruiser. Most I've looked at are 2L Turbo Diesel. I am cosidering a five hour round trip to look at a 1.8 petrol. Anyone give me a comparison between performance and mpg? Ta!

Your absolutely right, most are Diesel, mainly 2litre, some 2.2 litres about though, mainly auto transmission, about equal amounts of 4WD & rear wheel drive models though. A few petrol & manual boxed models are around. We have a 2CT (2 Litre diesel) with autobox & 4WD, as you normally run in 2 wheel drive you don't wreck tyres or have the expense of running the front drive train, so we get an average of 28.3 Mpg across the board, I would think that petrol models would be nearer just 20 Mpg, the 1.8 is probably slightly underpowered, the 2 litre probably goes OK, our diesel goes well, we have gone over to electric fan & that has given us a few hp back.
