Torque wrench settings

We have just removed the head from our diesel CR30 townace due to gasket failure. The head has now been sent for testing and skimming. When we removed the camshaft bearing cap bolts we noticed a spray of what looked like water from the thread below the cap. This happened on a number of them has anyone else experienced this? Additionally can someone please post the torque wrench settings for the camshaft bearing caps for a 2CT engine. Thanks Ali - (#4026) Ali, 19 Apr 02

Ali. Taken from the engine manual, part No RMO25E, available from your Toyota dealer at a cost of around £9 and, essential reading for engine renovation etc.
"Gradually install and tighten the cap bolts from the inside in three passes. Torque the bolts on the final pass. 185kg-cm (13ft-lb) 18N.m "
Ref the "spray" from the head drill/tappings, this is unusual. When the head is pressure tested, hopefully there will be no cracks or fissures. I can only think that it is trapped moisture/oil/fuel etc, which has been in the blind tappings since the head was fitted.
By the way,and you are possibly aware of this, the small waterway drillings, between the cylinders, can get clogged up and, while the head is off, it's a good idea to clean these out - (#4031) John Davis, 19 Apr 02
