i have started to research buying a warranty for when i eventually get a townie,i have had a quote from a company called warranty wise, here are the details if anyone is interested. quote for 1991 2.0 townie with 65000miles
unlimited mileage limit and annual claims, £2000 parts and labour limit per claim, £100 recovery per claim,60 days european cover per year, 7 days replacement car hire @ £30 per day £50000 legal assist, £60 emergency travel and hotel per claim. £395.35 for 2 years or £458.88 for 2 years with main dealer labour rate. the quote did include 4x4 but not turbo or air con units which will be extra. i thought this wasn't too bad, i will try some others and post results if they are better.contact www.warrantywise.co.uk or 0870 2411991.
