(Home) Temperature gauge, durite

Just to let anyone remotely interested know, the innards of the durite gauge are INTERCHANGEABLE with those of the original item. So if so desired, you can have a temp gauge that works AND looks completely stock! I can give instruction should anyone require them.

yea dave i might as well change it over . got the clocks out for speedo bulb renewal anyways - please send your intructions to adgo6@aol.com
by the way pacet reccomended their 14 inch fan @ 136 pounds inc vat part tcf1410p/636

I'll send you both instructions asap, but first
Jim, Pacet's reccomendation is a bit big, is it not?. It won't fit- our rad has a 295mm core. Bigger than 12", and you'll need to block off parts of the fan, and it'll probably hit the floor or front diff. I reckon a PF1210P is a better fit, same dia as the height of the rad, and within 50cfm of the 14". £93inc vat or so. No offers of discount...
Note that most other fans that you'll see only pull about 800cfm, and kenlowe's equivalent draws 25A!

dave looks like pacet have confused our model with a Hiace hence the larger than rad fan size - ask pacet if they fancy a townace club discount - if the fan works they might find they have a few orders - jim

Ha Jim, tried that. Trade or retail sir? No sorry that's the price...tell you what, if you manage to wrangle discount, I want half... :-)

Dear David Miller-- or any other good soul who might know---------
You seem to be very knowledgeable on the Townies, I have just bought one that needs a new head, will be getting S/H head that Ive got skimmed and checked as you reommend (quite right too!) and will be fitting suitable temp gauge (Durite if I can find one??? ) So please would you send details of replacement, I have scoured the Answer site but can't see any info. Is it worth re-coring rad, how about electric fan as well whilst I'm under there?? Naturally a good flush out before re- assembly. The old girl will work hard hauling old folks about when it's fixed.
Thanks-------- Roger
