i have a severe problem with my g reg space cruiser the seal between the propshaft and the gearbox has gone and all the oil has come out is this a gearbox out job or can this be repaired easily or is the whole thing scrap? i dont know if it a mecanical seal or anything any help will be appreciated

The seal is a metal ring encased in rubber, I think it was about £5 when I got one a few years ago.
Mark the prop and diff flanges so it goes back the same, remove the four nuts and bolts and lower the prop enough to be pulled backwards, and gently pull from the gearbox. The seal can be hooked out, be careful not to score the housing. Note which way round it goes and gently drift the new one in. Replace prop and all done. HTH
