(Home) Vacuum and turbo pressure pipes

Sorry that my last post went on a bit
but here is the question on my cr30 townie i do not seem to have a (K) by this i am refering to the map on ace answers posted by ian d also i am unsure where the pipe that comes over the top of the engine which is marked (L) should go to i have a connection on what i think is the inlet manifold should this be put there
i have another question which is
if the turbo light comes on does this mean that the turbo is working for sure even if you can not hear it ?
any help woul be great

the one over the top of the engine should go to the three soenoid valves on the inner wing. The pipe from the manifold should go to the pump, and to the two pressure switches at the front of the airbox

Can only concur with what David has said about the pipework. As regards the green light, this is operated by a pressure switch, which comes on when the turbo is just starting to provide boost, around 1.5 lbs, as this is quite a low pressure, it will only tell you that it is providing some boost, not that it working correctly, you would need a gauge for that, the amber light comes on at 10 lbs indicating an overboost, so they aren't exactly a highly boosted car anyway.

thanks for that i fear that somone has been majorly fiddling around in there and i will have to find another townie and have a look see at there setup
and hopefully sort it from that because from what david is saying i must have somthing missing
this is giving me a headache one more question ?
to where does the pipe from the solonoid valves on the inner wing that comes over the engine connect?
sorry for all the questions but i apprecieate your input Ta mick

Mick, on Ace answers did you notice that there is an explanation to go with Ian's 'map'. It's the next item down. Engine Folder
"Vacuum and turbo pressure pipes key (Ian Dunse)".

Firstly i would like to thank ian for the exelent map
of the engine bay on ace answers which helped me to get my turbo working with ease which is quite unusual for me.
When i brought my townie it seemed to be very sluggish
i looked through ace answers to see if i could find a probable cause i read the posts on the turbo light which was supposed to come on (mine was not comming on)
i used ians map and checked all the pipes out and found that the pipe from the fuel pump had been connected to a point on the inlet manifold and there was a long pipe that comes over the top of the filler cap and this was connected to the pipe which you marked as f which is a t piece connecting to the turbo marked as h any ways i swapped these around and haypresto i now have a turbo light and a townie that runs a whole lot better So ta very much

Someone was silly! the pipe that comes over the top of the engine is the vacuum feed to the idle up and 4x4 systems, where fitted...
