I have a problem with my G reg Townace Masterace Diesel beastie my warning lights stay on for ages and only go after muchos charging. Not a problem your site leads me to believe that it could well be my regulator or the bushes on my alternator.

Normally i get all my parts from toyota direct but they tell me they cant help with this, they cant get a regulator and i would need a whole new alternator (not what this site seems to indicate) does anyone know the part numbers for these and a nice supplier?

okay its a G reg 1990 the only ref numbers i have are Q CR21G PEZX and CRZ1 0111249 i sincerely hope one of those is the model number.

Yup, built in April '90. Externally regulated alternator. Your local auto electrician can check the condition of the brushes (2x 27371-70300 or equivalent, or holder assy 27370-54450 or equivalent)
If it looks like the reg. is at fault, it's part number is 27700-64060 or 61, and your local dealer will be pleased to order...

good question. they're both for 70A alternators, but it's anyone's guess if they're interchangeable. I would strongly suspect that they would, though
