(Home) Coolant level, seeing in expansion tank

A Townace owner commented on the difficulty in seeing the liquid level in the expansion tank. It is difficult because, when the passenger seat is up, the view is downwards, on top of the tank, where the high and low marks are hard to see. I find that if, when the passenger seat is raised, and the passenger side door is left open, a much better "reading" can be made, from across the car, via the open drivers door, where backgound light shows through the translucent tank. It helps greatly, and is an easy job to do, if the tank is removed and cleaned, inside and out. The low level warning light cable has a convenient plug/socket and the tank lifts out, upwards from it's securing bracket. Household bleach, and a bottle cleaning brush, works wonders on the inside of the tank, and makes level reading a much simpler task.
