temparture gauge on liteace 1990 Does not always work, sometimes driving along it kicks in , most of the time it does not.It would be handy to have this working . any ideas where to look first,

sender is under the inlet manifold. check that the screws holding the gauge in to the instrument panel are tight (three).
Supply comes direct from "gauge" fuse.

I had the van up on ramps today checking for a new squeak that has devoloped (front shocks I think) and checked under inlet manifold for sender for temp gauge could not find any sign of it. AB

hang on, Alan. I was assuming. It isn't a diesel, is it?...
If it's a petrol engine I haven't a damn clue where the sender is. Our resident Spacey expert Mr Dunse might want to take this one from here...

Well the Spacecruiser manuals don't show the location. I'm guessing it is offside front somewhere near the distributor but cannot honestly remember for sure. Clive ?

I never had cause to remove, don't know , so just going on places where skin and finger parted company and they are - under the distributor, just behind the alternator and above the starter - all on the block. All these locations had a single wire connection. There is a twin wire one on the head close to filler neck but I think thats for the carb.
Sorry for vagueness Clive

Yes under the filler cap nearest to drivers side
quite hard to find and take out ,I will renew sometime soon.wiring was yellow wire with green line through and red fleck.
Any idea where this wire goes now, cheers to all AB

easy one, Alan- to the gauge! Short the wire and the gauge should go to max...
