(Home) Grease nipple, front axle, from where

I've got a F reg Townace. On the last Mot the grease nipple failed. Now I took one out,- it was a simple M6 screw. In the local carshop they don't stock any greasenipple with exactly same thread as the screw that was in its place. THe one they sell goes in for one or maybe two turns. Should I put it in and fill up with grease and later insert the M6 screw or is there any place in Southeast Essex ( or anywhere else per mailorder) where I could buy the greasenipples with the perfectly fitting thread?
Turning the steering wheel on hot summer days meant often led to a screeching noise. Possibly not a bad idea to regrease ther axle once in a while.
Any comments wellcome

I got one from Toyota only a few pence, to do the upper ball joints. It needs to go in quite a few turns else the grease will find the easy way out, and you don't want to strip the thread as the screw has to go back in.

Thread should be standard. I bought one for a few pence from local factors to fit upper wishbones. Try another factors, if still no joy best go to your local friendly Toyota dealer.
