(Home) Demise of our master ace

It is with great sadness that I must announce the end of our Master Ace Surf following involuntary contact with a new Jaguar whose owner was unable to cope with the combination of steering, throttle, roundabout and damp road surface. The Jag hit the poor Master Ace just behind the driver's door, snapping the rear wheel off by the axle shaft and toppling it onto it's roof.
Just three years ago I had rebuilt the top of the engine and fitted a re-cored radiator (following overheating...!) and the engine had run perfectly since then not loosing a drop of coolant.
The point of this story is the the vehicle was deemed a write-off since every single panel was damaged beyond hope, so may soon be broken for spares once the insurance company disposes of it. So if you find H132 NJT in a breakers yard, there will be a very good engine with only about 70,000 well maintained miles (30,000 since the head job).
Before they took it away, I rescued a full set of headrests in brown, so if anybody needs them and can collect from the Camberley Surrey area they are welcome to them. I also have two new tins of paint (light and dark gold/brown code 21L) that I will not be needing now.
We will soon be purchasing a Lucida, I hope it will be as good as the Master Ace. My best wishes (and thanks for help in the past) to you all.

Martin,

Sorry to hear about the demise pof your Master Ace. I'd be realy interested to hear your views on the Lucida compared to a Townie, please post your thoughts when you've had the vehicle a while.

Thanks
