My 1991 Masterace auto gearbox sets up a low frequency vibration when I select any of the forward gears. Reverse seems to be OK. I have had a transmission specialist give me a diagnosis and he has found that the hydraulic pressure to the forward clutch in the auto box is low. His estimate for repairs is £575 less VAT. Before I bite this bullet! Has anyone else had this problem and what was their solution?

No simple solution, but try cleaning the filter and changing the fluid a couple of times. If it still does it, your diagnosis sounds right, but I'd think that price was a bit steep... Sounds like a very full rebuild, rather than a repair.
