(Home) Anyone know their auto boxes ( cos im stuck) (Sp+)

It has taken the best part of six months to track down an auto box for my spacecruiser , eventually nippon spares got one from Japan and I thought I could manage the job of installing it.... which I did mechanically i mean , now I am stuck on the electrical side as this new gearbox does not tally with the cruisers electrics and I dont know which wires go to which (Ive been told that the box is likely to be a little newer than the cruiser) , can any of you experienced cruisers help? , is there such a thing as a wiring diagram for this part? , cos ive looked everywhere but to no avail , after nearly a year of ownership of my cruiser I have still to be able to get it going and Toyota are a fat lot of help in my struggle , can any of u guys help?

Post the size/ shape of connectors and the wire colours to each, and we'll see...
Neutral/ reverse light switch is easy, two big wires (starter) two small to the reverse lamp. Two wires for the O/D solenoid. That should be enough, the box is mechanical...

Once again thanks for your speedy response , u helped on my querys nearly a year ago , the wires I have are as follows
comming from the body is a rectangular plug with two wires one is black and the other is Black with white stripe ( both are thick wires ), then there is a smaller round shaped plugwith two red and black striped thin wires going into.

Comming from the gearbox selector are four thick wires , red , green with black casing , white with black casing and black with black casing.
What a mess eh ? , I'm no mechanic but i have managed to put in the box , but this wire configuration is making me sweat a bit.
Thanx for your help.

Black and Black/White are starter on all the diagrams I've ever seen.
Most diagrams note the reversing light switch as having Red/Black and Red/Blue wires, although one mentions Green/Orange.

Hook'em up and give her a try!

Thanks again david , i gave them a bash but got nowhere but managed to get hold of another selector with the correct coded wires thick black , thick white , and two thin ones red and blue , didnt manage to get the reversing switch going but did manage to get the starter going of a fashion... it whirs when i turn the key but doesntturn over the engine , iv'e probably not done something correct when fitting the gearbox and starter motor , i spose its my own fault for trying to do it myself when i know nothing about mechanics.. so frustrating though......... Thanks for your help once again it was much appreciated.
