It's on the off side of the engine. Underneath the driver's seat. You'll need to remove the floorpan to get to it. There's a description with diagrams of how to do this on AceAnswers.

well, it's common for the regulator to be inside the alternator... however, it's external on some, and could be under the dash, on the bulkhead, or inside the "b" pillar, iirc.

1989 Liteace GXL Diesel (2C-T). From previous threads I seem to have a regulator problem. Warning Lights on / Belts look OK etc. But in the passenger footwell I can only see a black box with a cicuit board inside. Outside the box has 077-2000470 on it. Inside I removed the PCB and resoldered dry joints on a small relay (no joy)- Is this the regulator circuitry? If not do I have an integral regulator inside the Alternator? I cannot find any part which matches others descriptions with 27700-64060 numbers. Also can I buy bushes for the alternator separately - If I must take the floorpan out (integrated regulator) I would like to replace bushes, belt and regulator.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
